His professional journey began with the Indian Air Force, where he served for more than 2 decades. During this distinguished tenure, shuttling from bustling bases to Signal Units in the far-flung corners of the country, he has participated in Operation Vijay during the Kargil Conflict and Operation Parakram, while also serving Internationally in Sri Lanka as part of the Indian Air Force’s Strategic Advisory Group. These experiences shaped a leadership philosophy rooted in discipline, accountability, teamwork, and mission-focused execution.
Following his military career, Mr Kalgutkar embarked on what he describes as his “second mission”—building enterprises that create meaningful impact. Under his leadership, the DM Group has grown into a nationally recognized organization employing more than 7,000 professionals across India while consistently maintaining strong growth across multiple sectors. Under his leadership, DM Group has maintained 30-40% year-on-year growth, achieving Rs 1 billion topline within 6 years and crossing Rs 2 billions in the next 4 years.
One of the group’s most significant contributions has been in telecommunications infrastructure. Working with leading organizations including Airtel, Jio, BSNL, L&T, and Sterlite, the company has undertaken large-scale optical fibre rollout and maintenance projects across multiple states. Through its participation in the Government of India’s Digital India initiative, the organization has helped connect hundreds of Gram Panchayats through broadband infrastructure, contributing to greater digital inclusion and connectivity.

He is an Alumnus of the Indian Air Force’s Electronic Training Institute, holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Applications from IGNOU, an MBA from Welingkar Institute of Management, and Executive Certifications in Strategic Management and Service Industry Leadership from IIM Ahmedabad.

As a visiting faculty member associated with management development programs and postgraduate institutions like Welingkar’s Institute of Management, Mumbai, and for MBA programs at Tata Institute of Social Studies, Mumbai., he actively mentors aspiring managers and entrepreneurs, sharing practical insights drawn from military service and business leadership. He has also contributed to the Teach India Program as a course tutor for multiple courses, a CSR initiative of the Times Group with collaboration with the London School. Additionally, he is a SEBI-registered, NISM-certified financial advisor, currently managing the wealth of over 50 clients.

He has been invited as a speaker at national forums on renewable energy, sustainability, and business leadership, while the organizations he leads have received multiple awards in excellence in Facility management, Infrastructure services, and operational performance. Recently, He has also been awarded Most Valuable Partner, Pan India Topper for Fiber Maintenance by Bharti Airtel for year 2025-26.
